Young People Planning Youth Exchanges

Aims & objectives

• Understanding the principles of non-formal and experiential learning as key principles of the Programme.
• Gaining in-depth understanding of Youth Exchanges and the opportunities provided to young people within the Erasmus+ / Youth programme.
• Developing competence for the quality design, management, and implementation of Youth Exchanges (teamwork and group management, project management, intercultural awareness, learning processes).
• Acquiring practical knowledge on how to write Youth Exchange (KA152) proposals based on quality criteria.
• Creating a space for networking, collaboration, and peer learning.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

• Young people 18-30 years old, interested in youth exchanges,
• Can communicate in English.

Training methods used & main activities

• Experiential Learning: Participants engaged in learning-by-doing activities, simulating real steps of designing and implementing a Youth Exchange.
• Peer-to-Peer Learning: Space was created for participants to share experiences, tools, and good practices from their own contexts.
• Group Work & Collaborative Tasks: Small groups worked together to brainstorm ideas, develop project concepts, and present drafts of Youth Exchange projects.

Outcomes of the activity

• 3 fully ready youth exchange designs for the young people to start developing into a youth exchange application
• Improved Understanding of Youth Participation and Inclusion: participants deepened their knowledge of the Erasmus+ priorities both horizontal and the objectives of youth exchanges.
• New Collaborations and Partnerships: New partnerships were initiated

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

• Co-facilitated the sessions with Kostas Spatiotis, the co-trainer,
• Training Design: Co-designed the overall flow of the training programme
• Mentoring & Coaching: Provided one-on-one and small group support to participants during project idea development

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
