TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The training aimed to strengthen members of young and developing National Committees, which are the national organisations responsible for running and developing the European Youth Parliament in their respective countries. It focused on practical skills such as project management, international cooperation, governance, board structures, and application writing. The training addressed the need for clearer and more accessible knowledge on how to manage and grow an EYP organisation, especially for newer National Committees. By building the capacity of individual members, it also supported the long-term development of their organisations and stronger cooperation across the EYP network.
The activity brought together more than 30 participants from different European countries, mainly members of National Committees within the European Youth Parliament network. The target group included young people involved in developing and managing EYP organisations at the national level, with a particular focus on younger and growing National Committees. The international composition allowed participants to exchange experiences, compare organisational practices, and learn from the different realities of EYP across Europe.
The training was held online via Zoom and used non-formal learning methods adapted to a digital setting. We tried to make the sessions as interactive as possible through small-group discussions in breakout rooms, practical exercises, collaborative tasks, reflection activities, and peer-to-peer exchange.
Participants were encouraged to actively contribute, share experiences from their own National Committees, and work together on realistic organisational challenges rather than simply listen to presentations.
The training helped participants gain practical knowledge and skills related to EYP governance, project management, international cooperation, board structures, and application writing. Its success could be seen in the active participation throughout the online sessions, the exchange of practices between different National Committees, and the fact that participants could directly connect the learning to their own organisational realities. The activity also strengthened cooperation between EYP Romania, EYP Moldova, EYP Hungary, and other members of the wider EYP network․

I worked as one of the 2 trainers in the team, together with a Head Trainer, while the organising National Committee (Romania) oversaw the overall implementation of the activity. I was involved as a full-time trainer throughout the three-day programme and delivered training modules every day. My responsibilities included preparing session content, facilitating the online activities, supporting participants during group work and discussions, and coordinating with the rest of the trainers to keep the programme coherent and engaging.
