Aims & objectives

The initiative You(th) Decide! reacted to youth disappointment with politics and low interest in civic engagement. The aim of the initiative was to enhance youth civic engagement and to raise awareness about the importance of participation in civic life among youth from V4 countries, by mobilizing active youngsters and developing their sense of initiative. Tree local meetings developed simultaneously in 4 different communities Košice (SK), Břeclav (CZ), Ryglice (PL) and Törökszentmiklós (HU) provided local young people with personal experience on how important is their civic engagement and what impact it might cause. After local meetings, groups met in Seminar in Ryglice where they exchange their experiences, drafted new common activities, and organized a public conference for 120 locals.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

You(th) Decide! gathered young people 16-25 years of age from Košice - Slovakia, Ryglice - Poland, Břeclav - Czech republic and Törökszentmiklós - Hungary. The number of participants at local events varied from 20-30. The common Seminar was attended by 24 participants. The final conference hosted 120 participants including important stakeholders from the Tarnow region.
