In the strategic plan for 2015-2020 CEIPES as international NGO put as priority the empowerment of young people as active citizens at European level, especially in the communities where its network works more.
It started from the recognition at European level of lack of participation from youth in different aspects of society. We are facing a strong crisis, not only for the economic threats we are now suffering but especially for the lack of interest in improving our society, well being, relationships among the citizens, respect of core values. Through this TC we will contribute to overcome this need.
The training course has the main aim of empowering youth workers and young leaders to act as agents of social change in their communities.
Specific objectives:
• To develop knowledge, skills and attitudes on youth-led project planning and management
• to foster young people’s active participation in society and encourage them to take initiative for community development
• to create a diversified and tied network of young community developers coming from all over Europe, supporting each other for future projects.
30 youth workers/young leaders, 2/3 from each of the 12 partner organizations, who are committed towards or interested in leadership and active citizenship, having volunteers experience or strong connection with their sending organization in order to act as youth multipliers and community developers in the follow-up phase

Pedagogic methods were based on non formal education and cooperative learning. The main part of the learning outcomes will come from the participation of the participants. Together with this participatory approach there will be also meetings and panels with local actors working with community development to show concrete examples to the participants and visits to important cultural places of Palermo and Danisinni neighborhood. We will use active methods such as role play, debates, situations analysis, reflections through various medium such as document, video, pictures, art etc... We will have a special focus on sharing international experiences about the chosen topic. Furthermore we aim to stimulate critical thinking by the use of individual and team works and confrontation and we also aim to work on values by the use of activities by which participants can reflect on their personal attitudes and values.
