Aims & objectives

The project "You are a human being: be aware of your rights" was focused on raising awareness about human rights issues among youth from different countries with different cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds: Greece, Germany, Romania, Poland and Moldova. Its aim was to prepare the participating volunteers for becoming human rights peer educators.

The project was build up on the knowledge and experience on human rights of organisations members of the SCI network, in particular the Polish branch of Service Civil International.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Over 20 representatives of 5 European countries attended the training: they came from Greece, Germany, Poland, Romania and Moldova.

Training methods used & main activities

The training was based on experiential learning, an included active practising, simulations, group work, as well some outdoor essions.

Outcomes of the activity

The training provided the opportunity for the SCI volunteers to gain knowledge about human rights and specific skills regarding appropriate methods of disseminating gained information to groups of volunteers from their own branches as well as to high school students.
The volunteers has also the possibility to exchange experiences and reach a common understanding about human rights issues and about non-formal, innovative and interactive ways to present these issues to high school students.

I was a full-time trainer, member of the trainers' team.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
