Aims & objectives

To discover what a competence-based approach is and its applicability in the context of international youth work.
To introduce the European Training Strategy competence model for youth workers working internationally and to link it to your personal youth work practice.
To explore competence self-assessment tools.
To discover ways and tools for professional development.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

880 participants from 51 country form Europe, Carribean, Middle East

Training methods used & main activities

We produced educational videos, online discussions, self-assessment of competences, reflection tasks, experience sharing boards, additional reading materials.

Outcomes of the activity

- Increased understanding about the competence-based approach
- better knowledge about the European Training Strategy
- better awareness of ones' own competences through the process of self-assessment
- increased knowledge about professional development tools.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I, together with the other 2 trainers, was responsible to creating scripts for educational videos, and designing online sessions, discussion forums and practical tasks for participants.

I worked on this training for 18 days as a full time trainer.
