Aims & objectives

Main objectives
• To offer a meeting space for EVS accredited organizations to develop partnerships and afterwards to be able to submit good quality applications and effectively implement European Voluntary Service.
• To provide a learning context for sharing knowledge and experiences between organizations and representatives involved in youth work developing voluntary activities.
•To create a solid and active network of partners interested in organizing EVS projects and to share common values and challenges within EVS volunteers preparation and support
• To reflect on the roles, responsibilities and challenges within the EVS volunteer support system.
• To raise awareness of the learning dimension in EVS and provide tools for learning support and personal development.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

EVS stakeholders involved in EVS projecs from different roles - project coordonators, mentors, trainers, sending coordinators, ex-EVS volunteers

There were 22 participants from 9 European countries: Croatia, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Romania.

Training methods used & main activities

We used a variety of non-formal education methods - Marketplace of EVS organizations and their secret ingredients, Storytelling, Role-plays, theatrical sketches, small groupwork, visual reflection methods and project-sketching workshops.

Outcomes of the activity

There were 5 EVS project ideas developed and many more connections for already existing projects. Participants were very satisfied with the training outcomes, with the opportunities offered to understand how EVS works and what are its challenges and also with the chances of getting to know other organizations active in EVS, to share god practices and establish future partnerships.
The best means of measuring the succes is the active communication that is still taking place on the training Gacebook Group long after the training finished, the many exchanges of information and projects that are placed there, the calls for partners for new projects among the participants and their very high level of friendship among each other.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was one of the 2 trainers facilitating this contact making seminar, directly involed in designing the entire training concept, choosing methodology, communicating with participants in advance as wel as fully involved in implementing the seminar. Together with my colleague, we also delt with all the reporting concerning the outcomes of the seminar and we keep in touch with participants in the TC even after its completion.

I worked on this training for 3 days as a full time trainer.
