Aims & objectives

The main aim of this project is to involve young people into process of inter cultural learning on different music, clothes, tradition, culture and food. With this project we wanted to fill the void between our countries and learn more about the similarities and the differences between our cultures. Another objective was to gather young people from different countries and to promote what can be found in common, so they can find similarities among them and feel as one.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

It was youth exchange, mainy with youth from 18 till 25. For most of them this was first experience. On this Youth Exchange there were participants from: Macedonia, Poland, Latvia, Italy and Romania.

Training methods used & main activities

The working methods were based on non-formal learning and group work. This included team organization, practical presentation, discussions, group work on preparing foods, data collecting and summarizing. The workshops were filled with active dialogs, games and various methods, all in order to get to know the richness in our cultures.

Outcomes of the activity

Participant learn how European culture is reach with different, in one way but also how all youth around Europe are same in another way. Stereotypes and prejudice were passed over as they were experiencing similarities and difference that human kind has, no matter from which background they are coming. However the most important outcome was be the manual that we created. During the whole project participant were on a manual that represent 6 cultures food, dances and songs.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Facilitating the whole project and I designed the whole project idea. I was also included in the preparation of the project and the evaluation of the project.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
