Aims & objectives

The objective was to provide the participants with an environment of learning of communication of development cooperation and how to involve former volunteers and also with a platform to exchange knowledge, experience and ideas around these topics. As volunteers and development cooperation is a crucial part of DanChurchAid is absolutely fits to the goals of the organisation.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The participants were former volunteers who did their volunteers service around the world. They came from Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Malawi & South Africa. Besides that some employees of DanChurchAid attended also the conference.

Presentations, group discussions, group work, social media, inspiring presentations, panel discussion, open space

Outcomes of the activity

The participants got knowledge in Millinium Development Goals, International Cooperation and different realities in volunteer services. They exchanged ideas how to involve former volunteers and communicate their experience in the "right" way. It was a success because the volunteers shared their knowledge actviely on social media and started first actions at their home NGO. I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
