Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The project was attended by 28 youth workers from 9 countries: Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Georgia, Romania, Macedonia, Italy, Sweden and Spain. Participants of this project are the employees or volunteers of partner organization, who are responsible for organizing volunteering projects and/or coordinating volunteering work. Since the project is the whole educational path, we assume the same participants in all the stages of the project (however, due to the duration of the project, we will understand changes). The expected participants share the needs identified within this project: improving the quality of volunteering projects, developing communication and conflict management skills and supporting volunteers in their learning. The most important criteria is the motivation of participants to implement the tools and skills gained throughout the project in their local communities. Participants will be chosen by partner organization, based on the questionnaire prepared by CIM Horyzonty.
The training was facilitated by 2 trainers Bogusława Garus and Michał Kłopocki from CIM Horizons.

Training methods used & main activities

The training was fully based on non formal education methodology, however becasuse of pandemia it was held fully online. We used brainstorms, working on padlet and other tools, like Menti, Kahoot. The training was based on experiential learning, working in small groups, sharing experiences and getting to know volunteering cycle model.

Outcomes of the activity

After completing all stages of the project participants was able to identify volunteers’ needs and better assign the tasks to volunteers; communicate better and be able to manage the conflict situations; learn more about motivation and they gain new tools for promotion volunteering projects and learning outcomes. Moreover they was able to identify skills and competences that volunteering projects has to offer and they will be able to support volunteers’ learning and to help volunteers in recognizing own skills and competences. They will know how to set a clear learning goals and they will know about different forms of volunteering.
Implementation phases and sharing their outcomes will help to develop critical and analytical thinking, reflection skills and create the opportunity to get to know different cultural perspective of the same issue. Participants will also experience creating publication online, which will be afterwards published and distributed.
