Aims & objectives

Aim:
to build up sustainable system of co-management in Youth Policy on local level
Objectives:
- to give young people and policy makers competences to participate in youth policy development al local level
- to develop multipliers acting at local level to involve youth in decision making process
- to establish co-management system on local level
- to develop recommendations how to develop systems for youth to participate in youth policy development at local level
- develop local action plans/ strategies how to involve youth in to youth policy development for each country
- to work out a system of co-management on local level
- develop common understanding of participants on youth policy
- share realities on youth policies at local level (share best practices)
- to get to know charter on youth participation on local level and how to apply it in their own communities
- to build up interaction/communication between Youth NGO's and municipal representatives

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The group of participants was made from 24 international participants from 6 countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Each national group had at least 1 policy maker, 1 youth leader and 1 youth worker. Trainer team was made from 4 trainers from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Lithuania. Additionally, 2 technical staff from Lithuania helped to realize the training course.

Training methods used & main activities

Methods of Non-Formal Education were used: space was created for sharing and learning among group, practical exercises with debriefing, learning by doing. Main types of activities: group work, simulations, interactive exercises, work in micro-groups, visit to municipalities, input, main training resource was the Have your say manual.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants have learned how to create a system of co-management of Youth Policy on local level, understood what youth policy, active youth participation is ant its importance. Local cooperation between policy makers, youth workers and youth leaders were made.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My role was to develop, conduct, evaluate the training program. Writing the training report and consulting the hosting organization in the application development process and reporting.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
