Aims & objectives

Multi-agency training for professionals and voluntary sector workers to encourage them to listen to the voice of the child, especially as it related to safeguarding.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

People from many different nationalities took part.

Training methods used & main activities

Methods used included videos of young people, video's of when things went wrong, group discussions, quizzes and teaching sessions.

Outcomes of the activity

Feedback has been that people learned a lot about how to create an environment that helped them listen and challenged them to improve their practice.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I wrote and ran the training with a young person as co-trainer. I collated resources that could be used during and after the training. I trained and supported my young co-trainer to take part.

I worked on this training for 12 days as a full time trainer.
