TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Ioana Filipas
- Present 30 youth workers in the field of disability with non-formal tools and methods adapted for different disabilities;
- Teach participants to adapt well-known tools and methods in a way that will make the activities accessible to everyone in their groups;
- Create networking opportunities for further collaboration in disability work.
The group included youth workers in the field of disability from Romania, Italy, Poland, Greece, Slovenia, and Austria. Each of our participants was a youth worker in their community, focusing on education and independent life skills for people with disabilities.
Some of the methods and instruments we used: Photo Voice, graphic facilitation, storytelling, World Cafe, theatre of the oppressed.
After the activity, participants from all six countries started to implement learnings from this TC in their own work with people with disabilities.
We applied focus groups in all of the partner groups to assess to which extent this experience has been useful and has helped improve their work.
Also, our daily and final evaluation with the participants showed that this project has been a fruitful learning experience and that the methods can easily be replicated among the people they work with.

I designed and wrote most of the project, having in mind the needs we assessed together with our partners.
I coordinated the activities in this mobility, and I was the main trainer. I created the activities and adapted them day after day to fit the needs and learning level of the group.
Ioana was indeed the trainer and managed very well her parts/ sessions. She also had essential contributions in managing the group and organising activities.
All the feedbacks we have received regarding Ioana, both on site and after the train were exceptional.
It was a great experience to work alongside Ioana in this training and I can say, in full honesty, she is a great trainer.
