TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Hranush Shahnazaryan
Looking across the field of youth activities and trainings we found many Youth Workers and Trainers who have been involved in youth activities for quite a long time and were on the search for ways to breathe new life into their work. That’s why Loesje Armenia organized this training for trainers and youth workers to create space to breathe new life into their work as trainer and get tools to prevent getting ‘burned out’.
There were 30 participants from 10 different countries residents of the Youth in Action Programme Countries and EECA region.
Team was composed by Hranush Shahnazaryna (Armenia), Diego Marin ( Spain ), Agnieszka Szczepanik (Poland), Ramon Vermij ( The Netherlands).
The methodology of this training course was
based on the principles of non formal learning
as well there were influences from humanistic
disciplines such as Gestalt therapy, Synergy training, Bioenergetics, from Alexander Lowen, and Transpersonal Psychology.
The conviction implicit in this training concept,
was fundamented in the idea that any meaningful
learning only occurs when cognitive, attitudinal
and body dimensions are equally involved in the
person’s learning process. In this sense, the set
of methods used during the course tackled
all three of them, making the best learning experience out of it.
The training course User’s Guide provided space for personal reflection, to share about the challenges participants faced in their work and their own experiences and solutions/tools. It gave them the opportunity to look from outside on their work as a trainer or youth worker and to find new ways to work, and to get motivated for future work.
The course combined theoretical elements
and experiential exercises where participants had space space to develop their self awareness and
their capacity to recognize their own emotions
and those of other people.
