TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Lukas Zajicek
This training was created on personal experience and need to get more non-formal activities within formal education framework. The need is to help create system which helps kids, students to prepare for world they are living in instead of academic world. Needs that we addressed during both stages were: communication, creativity, cooperation, learn by doing, including games into education. We chose organisations that work with schools and teachers so we can reach our target audience.
Target group was teachers, youth workers and people interested in these areas. We had 3 people who were pedagogy students, otherwise target group age was basically 25+.
Countries: CZ, AZ, Georgia, GR, PL, RO, SL, SP
Team: Lukas Zajicek (CZ) main trainer
Linda Phanová (CZ) co-trainer A2
David Janeba (CZ) Logistics
Al methods used were based in non-formal education, some of the techniques used was from theatre. Otherwise whole frame was created on the base how to integrate non-formal approach into formal system without disturbing original system but rather enhance it. Project was open book where main trainer always explained logic behind and use of the exercise so other teachers would be able to use it as well.
For purpose of this project we created new exercise that addresses positive and negative reinforcement and participants can experience its impact on the group, learning and process itself.
Since we aimed on working with both structures rather than trying to surpass one we managed to share with this international groups non-formal methods that they might use in schools. Which they did, we got first real feedback at A2 when most of the teachers already tried or used in their classes. Training was successful based in both formal evaluation and feedback we were getting especially during the second stage.

My role was the main trainer and methodologist. I came up with idea because I spent time teaching in the Kindergarden, and then in the private high school. What I saw made me realise that no matter how good school can be it will be limited how its teachers are. For this training I didn't have co-trainer for the first stage and for the second stage I had one junior trainer Linda Phanová.
