Aims & objectives

The course aimed at development of EVS mentors’ competences to support and facilitate learning processes of EVS volunteers with special focus on Learning to Learn competence

Objectives:
• To reflect on their own learning and learning processes in EVS
• To experience and get better understanding of learning to learn and self-directed learning
• To explore the role of mentor as a facilitator of learning
• To try out practical mentoring tools and strategies how to support volunteers learning
• To stimulate development of their own mentoring style and approach within and after the course

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

EVS mentors from Ireland, UK, The Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Italy etc. The trainers team from the Netherlands, Hungary and Serbia.

Training methods used & main activities

Experiential learning exercises, self-reflection tools, group work, theoretical inputs, group disucussions etc.

Outcomes of the activity

Increase of participants' motivation and mentor competencies to facilitate volunteer's learning and development of learning to learn competence during EVS. Report from the training course, available from UNIQUE website.

Member of the trainer team, responsible for programme design, training delivery and reporting
