Aims & objectives

This Training Course aimed to analyse and prevent burn-out of educators working with young people by providing self-care techniques such as Non-Violent Communication, Transactional Analysis, and empathy.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To improve youth workers' self-awareness and skills (clear, ethical and empathic communication techniques with individuals and groups, management of healthy relationships, Non-violent Communication, dealing with unpredictable situations, stress management, ...);
2. Improving the well-being and self-care of youth workers by focusing on tools and methods preventing burnout and taking the person into consideration on the intellectual, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual levels;
3. Empowering the participants on self-care and empathy to enable them to embrace care and empathy towards the other - especially towards their young people with backgrounds and difficulties, mainly those with a violent attitude
4. To improve the quality of youth work by providing participants with the space to reflect on their difficult role as intercultural and social mediators and to reflect constructively on their previous experiences of crisis, burnout and demotivation in their work and role;
5. Experiencing non-formal learning processes and understanding the value of "failures" and mistakes in learning (and life) and being able to pass this on to their youth groups
