TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Eliza Popper
The specific objectives for the youth workers participating to the seminar were:
to explore competences acquired in intercultural programmes;
to share/review existing tools and good practices for self- and external recognition of competences gained in intercultural programmes;
to explore existing and come up with new ways of communication and promoting educational output of intercultural programmes:
connect to external (labour market, formal education, society) needs/mindset/vocabulary
to formulate follow up plans and recommendations to improvement assessment, recognition and promotion of competences gained in intercultural programmes.
a group of participants representing 15 AFS organisations around Europe together with a team of 4 consisting of an Italian, two Hungarians and one Polish trainer.
The methodology was mostly through NFE methods such as simulations, fishbowl discussions, world cafe, small group work, but also included a panel discussion with external guests from the European Commission, the Flemish Employment Office and the European Youth Forum.
In Antwerp, Belgium, a group of participants representing 15 AFS organisations around Europe gathered and worked together on how to enable young people and their exchange organisations to recognise and promote their learning outcomes and to capitalise on them in professional life.
It is now up to these participants to take every step needed to realize their personal action plans and multiply the outcomes of the seminar by sharing what they gained and by spreading the word. Back to their countries, they can still rely on the strong team built during these 4 days, support each other by sharing ideas, inputs and best practices on common platform such as social media.
