Training on Conflict Management in International Youth Exchanges

The training activity took place
in Antalya, Turkey
organised by YouthArt
Nov 2008

Aims & objectives

The aim of the programme was to provide training information and training in a range of strategies and methodologies that would aid workers in better preparing to deal with conflict in youth exchanges. This included many simualtion exercises, case studies, discussion groups, key group meetings, reviews, inter-cultural aspects, information and theoretical inputs. My role was to co-facilitate, offer input and lead particular sessions. The target group was youth workers or those working with young people who have some experience in this area or will be organising programmes in the future. The participants were drawn from many countries in Western, Central and Eastern Europe. All participants benefitted greatly from the experience in terms of feeling more confident, better informed and more prepared to arrange or successfully organise youth exchanges.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
