Training Course: WoW - Working on Work

The training activity took place
in Dilijan, Armenia
organised by Armenian Progressive Youth NGO

Aims & objectives

The main objectives of the project were:
- to reflect on unemployment situation of youth in Europe.
- to train youth workers and develop their skills and knowledge in this field,
- to promote youth’s involvement in voluntary work,
- to encourage the creation of future projects within Youth in Action Programme, which will target unemployed youngsters.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Training Course gathered 30 youth workers and young leaders from different organizations based in EU and EECA (Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Italy, Spain, France, Bulgaria, Romania, Latvia, Estonia, Czech Republic and Turkey)

Training methods used & main activities

Different non-formal education tools were used that guaranteed the active participation of all participants in the training course. Hence, the participants learnt from each other by sharing their knowledge, experience and competencies and by discovering themselves new quality information that they will use in the future. The team of trainers provided a framework to facilitate this sharing in order to make it as fruitful as possible.

Outcomes of the activity

During the 7 days of the TC, youth workers from different countries shared opinions and ideas on youth unemployment as well as got practical
skills from professional trainers. They were involved in various activities and leart CV and Motivation Letter writing techniques, Hints to pass a Job Interview, Working with E-Job Databases, how to use Volunteerism as a way to the labor market, what is YouthPass, etc.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

Development of the training idea and application as well as preparation of the content and methodology of the TC together with other members of the team. Evaluation of the TC and reporting.

I worked on this training for 8 days as a full time trainer.
