TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

Aims - train future trainers in communication and teamwork
Target groups - youth leaders/workers/trainers with a need to improve their skills and get further experience with educational activities; 28 participants from 11 European countries
Methods - discussions, input, practise (facilitation, debriefing, communication, experiential exercises, project development), experiential activities, simulation exercises
Responsibility - team trainer, team work, coaching participants, theoretical input, running experiential exercises
Outcomes - report including methodology and theoretical background of the TC
Composition of team: UK, CZ, SK, PL
Target grooup: youth leaders and youth workers from member organisations of YEE in different countries (ALB, ARM, BUL, DE, CZ,GEO, PL, PT, UK, RU)
Ice-breakers, simulations, discussions, presentations, group work. Various methods depending on the objectives of the programme blocks and the needed outcome. Most of the time participants were discovering the theme themselves either in small groups or individually.
Outcomes:
- participants´understanding of what is facilitation and leadership
- basic skills of facilitation
- basic skills of presentation (including use of visual aids)
- understanding of motivation, non-formal education and learning, participation
- ability to give and receive feedback
- clear project idea for one´s own organisation (or co-operation with other partner)
- reflected potential changes in one´s work approach and/or function of their team
Role: Senior trainer
Responsibility: - co-prepare the flow of the programme in line with its aims and objectives
- run programme blocks
- support other team members
- create support materials for participants when needed
- describe the methods used in the programme blocks
- contribute to the creation of the project idea and the grant application
