The project entitled as "Right media is our right!" took place in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia by bringing together 30 young people from EU, Eastern Europe and Caucasus. The aim of the project was to strengthen social media as a tool in spreading pluralism within the societies.
The main objectives of the Training Course were:
• To share media realities between the participants of EU and EECA
• To develop critical thinking of participants,
• To motivate participants to use alternative media, open their own blogs and contribute to the pluralism in their societies,
• To equip participants with necessary skills to work with social media and social networks.
Training Course involved young people from Italy, Latvia, Czech Republic, Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine.
Non Formal Education methods were used. Used methodology created a space for participants to discuss the impact of mainstream media on shaping stereotype based statements and the use of social media as a tool in promoting pluralism within the societies. During the discussions, working groups and meetings with media representatives the participants had an opportunity to reflect on media perceptions in their countries through giving some examples and cases related to demonstrations of disinformation from media.
The methods of non-formal education were applied on all types of activities, particularly working groups, simulation games, workshops, outdoor activities, city games, discussions and intercultural evenings.
As a result Training Course encouraged participants to go deeper in analyzing various sources of information and create their own blogs as part of alternative media.
I worked as a full time trainer. My tasks were focused on designing the program and leading sessions. I was facilitating the group process, daily workshops and group works. Besides, I was responsible for the content of the Training Course and main thematic sessions.
