TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Pedro Santos
The training aims to build the capacity of youth workers and municipality workers to explore e-participation and innovative digital tools that can contribute to quality youth participation in decision-making processes at the local level.
The target group was mainly municipality workers, and youth workers, from Belgium, Italy, Portugal, and Slovenia.
The team was composed of 2 trainers, 1 logistics support person, and a photographer.
The training course was based on non-formal education methodologies and aimed to enable the participants to engage young people through digital tools and platforms. The participants had the opportunity to foster their knowledge in the field, exchange good practices from their realities, and experiment with some of the platforms through practical exercises.
participants shared innovative ways for young people’s e-participation and mean to create spaces where youth can work with decision-makers on establishing local youth policies and strategies for developing their communities using digital tools. Our guest facilitators from Tree company and GiShub presented their tools and practices that sparked reflection on how such devices could be used in the participants’ realities. Some of these practices will be presented in our Study that will be launched at the final event of the project in Brussels in June 2022.
Matt and I were responsible for the event's vision, creating different sessions and spaces for other trainers to present best practices and experiment with innovative digital tools for quality youth work and participation.
Pedro was an amazing trainer. Together we delivered a quality programme, answering the needs of participants and adjusting it to their demands.
