"Training Course in Intercultural Conflicts Handling" Dialogue among the Young People and Peacebuilding Initiatives

in Wroclaw, Poland
organised by AEGEE Wroclaw
14-21.02.2009.

Aims & objectives

YiA Action 3.1 Project:
-establishing dialogue between young people coming from different cultures
-training european leaders to become active trainers in intercultural projects
-activating youth NGOs in intercultural youth initiatives
-breaking stereotypes, raising tolerance, fighting racism and xenophobia

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

-youth leaders from european countries
-young active people willing to run their own intercultural initiatives
-trainers team was composed of 3 young people from TR, NL, PL

Training methods used & main activities

-workshops
-intercultural games
-simulations
-role playing
-open space
-group work etc.

Outcomes of the activity

group of 30 motivated and enthusiastic young people ready to lead intercultural projects
-action plan for future projects organised in cooperation between participants
-exchange of knowledge

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

-preparing the YOUTH application
-composing the team and preparing the programme
-full time trainer and facilitator during the training
-cooperation and follow-up after the training

I worked on this training for 8 days as a full time trainer.
