TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The aim of this event was to foster connections, inspire action, and equip participants and organisations with valuable practices to step beyond their comfort zones and innovate within the youth work sector.
The specific objectives of this TCP event were:
- Provide visibility for, and increase the understanding of the concept of social innovation and its role in social inclusion processes in youth work
- Reflect on the realities and current challenges of organisations and actors involved in youth work, and take steps towards new and innovative strategies and action
- Share knowledge and practical experiences showcasing how social innovation can address societal challenges
- Inspire participants to create new collaborations/networks and/or entrepreneurial initiatives that address current societal issues relevant for the young people
The activity had 25 participants from Erasmus+ Programme countries, Eastern Partnership, Southern Mediterranean and Western Balkan countries, with the following professional backgrounds: practitioners from civil society sector, governmental bodies, academia, entrepreneurs, media, schools, business sector connected to the topic of the activity (fostering employability, social entrepreneurship and social innovation in youth work and Erasmus+ Programme).
There were 25 participants coming from diverse countries as: Bosnia, Croatia, Albania, Turkey, Serbia, Poland, Finland, Italy, Portugal, Greece, North Macedonia, Georgia, France, Hungary and Azerbaijan.
The international team composition was from Finland, Cyprus, Albania, Bosnia and Spain.
The programme consisted of keynote speeches, workshops, and field visits, zooming in on how organisations can adapt, remain relevant, and effectively connect with their target groups.
- Increased knowledge about the concepts connected to Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship
- Discovered good practices and experiences within the connection among Social Innovation and Youth Work.
- Increased awareness about the relevance of identifying new ways to attend the current social challenges, specifically with the youth work sector..
- Development of ideas and proposals to attend youth social challenges from the perspective of Social Innovation.
- Increased the network and future collaboration among organizations and institutions
I was one of the two trainers of this seminar.
My responsibilities came from the design of the training program, content and methodology. We, as facilitators/trainers, also participated in the review of the profile of participants and identification of good practices to be shared during the activity.
I also participated in the development of materials, and content for the daily work, and the development of the training within the participants.
After the training program finished, my partner and I elaborated the final report of the activity.
Alicia Carpio Obré made an outstanding contribution to the co-development of the activity concept and the facilitation of the programme. Throughout the process, she demonstrated a high level of professionalism, reliability, and commitment to quality. I would highly recommend her for similar assignments in the future.
