Aims & objectives

- Provide Youth Leaders with a theoretical and practical introduction to Outdoor Education methods
- Provide participants with hard-skills in outdoor activities including sailing and kayaking
- Foundation in frontloading and debriefing methods in Outdoor Education

Tri-lateral project with youth workers from:
- Germany
- Ukraine
- Russia

Training methods used & main activities

Experiential and outdoor education methods.
All activities were fronloaded and followed by debriefing.
Participants were encouraged over the course of the training to take on increasing amounts of responsibility for their learning.
Training culminated in a participant-led expedition

Outcomes of the activity

Participants successfully organised and led a three-day kayak expedition on the Baltic Sea, drawing on the methods learned in the TC.

A direct outcome of this project was the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Carpathian.lab – an outdoor youth exchange organised by group leaders who attended this TC
