Aims & objectives

The project " The role of youth NGO's in information society" took place in Yerevan, Armenia from April 22th to April 28th.
The aim of the project is to share experience and raise awareness on different types/ methods of youth work (by using IT, social media) in today’s information society within the international group of youth leaders.


The project has the following objectives:

- Sharing information and knowledge about youth work in different social groups from different countries
- Exploring the common understanding of the concepts of Information society and the role of youth NGO’s in it
- Reflecting how social networks, new mass media, IT affects our lives and youth work in general (with specific focus on youth participation), examples of good and bad practices by methods of non-formal education and learning from each other
- Sharing experience on possible transformation (structure and decision making processes) of youth NGO’s in the Information society and how the new mass media (blogging, social networks, etc.) can be used by youth NGO’s
- Increasing the knowledge about core values of CoE, Networking and planning activities for the future.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

World Armenian Youth Network joinly with its partners from Bulgary, France, Germany, Belarus, Russian Federation, Georgia, Kazakhstan.

Training methods used & main activities

Methodology:

All activities will be run by using methods of non-formal education. Some of the particular sessions will be prepared by the teams of participants, the others by the international preparatory team, which is composed of 5 persons (from different CoE member countries).

Outcomes of the activity

The seminar aimed at raising the productive methods of online youth work and encouraging their use by Armenian and Diaspora youth organisations. At the end of the seminar the representatives of youth organisations joined Young Armenians’ Network - YAN, created by the efforts of young participants. ''One of results of the project is to elaborate long-term and sustainable collaborative projects and to provide continuity of the program

I worked on this training for 6 days as a full time trainer.
