TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Kinga Karp
The aim of this seminar was to create a space for dialogue and learning on methods of working on the LGBT+ issues with young people.
The training took place in Poland, in the Foundation "The Institute of Creative Actions". The organisation developes anti-discrimination good practices in non-formal education with youngsters and educators (teachers, psychologists etc.). This seminar helped to enable good practice sharing within the field of LGBT+ students inclusion methods.
The target group consisted of 20 young educators/psychologists/teachers from 7 European countries: Poland, Portugal, Spain, Slovakia, Italy, Romania and Cyprus.
I used non-formal education methods that helped to build up a safe environment that enables learning from each others experience.
I mostly used anti-discrimination dynamics on LGBT+ issues. Dynamics that allowed to experience how is it to be an LGBT+ person in the classroom. We also had sessions where participants were guiding us through their short examples of dynamics that they use to work with the issue of discrimination in the classroom. We had a panel discussion on gender roles and stereotypes in variuos countries - it took place in the Centre of Dialogue, a cultural institution from our city where. It was an open event for all the citizens.
The participants and our Foundation learned a lot of new dynamics and methods of working with youths on the LGBT+ issues.
We created a booklet with good practices in LGBT+ youngsters inclusion:

There is some info on the project, video from the debate and pictures on the Foundation's website:

I was responsible for creating and leading the full 5-day programme of the seminar. It included 20h of anti-discrimination training in LGBT+ issues and two meetings - the panel dicsussion and meeting with the City Hall representatives.
