TERO - Reinforcing capacities of Oasis organisations for the mobilisation of young people and accompaniment of volunteers

The training activity took place
in Chenini (Tunisia), Nouakchott (Mauritania) and Goulmima (Morocco)
organised by France Volontaires, ASOC, TENMIYA and AOFEP
14-17/9/2018, 16-18/10/2018 and 24-25/11/2018

Aims & objectives

Work on the identification of needs and expectations with regard to the involvement of young volunteers, the realities of local youth, local resource actors.

Strengthen the capacities of the participating structures in terms of youth mobilization and accompaniment of volunteers.

Promote synergies between local youth, volunteer and environmental risk prevention actors.

Develop an action plan by the partners to mobilize young people in their activities for resilience to climate change.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The training team was composed by an Italian (me) and a Spanish (Alberto Fernandez), together with respectively a Tunisian, a Mauritanian and a Moroccan as local responsible of the training course.
Participants where NGO staff from Tunisia, Mauritania, Morocco and France partner organisations.

Outcomes of the activity

Needs for young volunteers mobilization and local resource actors were identified through a group diagnostic.

Capacities of the participating structures on youth mobilization were improved through reinforcement of vision, techniques and self-confidence.

An action plan was elaborated for the mobilization of young people in community activities for resilience to climate change.


Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was coordinator of the overall TERO training programme and also was trainer of the training courses carried out in the 3 countries.

I worked on this training for 9 in total days as a full time trainer.
