TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The program was a 10-week learning journey focused on the development of life skills that we identified as most important for the people of the organisation at the time: non-violent communication & empathy, interculturality & understanding diversity, creativity & adaptability, and global awareness & changemaking.
The program included new team members of the organisation and it had people from 5 different nationalities: Kenyan, Singaporean, French, South African, and Brazilian. And during the program people were spread through different countries: France, Brazil, Kenya, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
During the program, my Co-facilitator and I fetched existing content and tools from different sources to use as inspiration to create a personalised learning journey for this program. During the journey, we combined synchronous meetings where people would come together to discuss relevant topics around each content with asynchronous activities where people could have the chance to practice what they learned during the live sessions. We designed the journey seeking to keep the balance between facilitated content and peer-led reflections and learnings.
Upon the completion of the pilot class, we could see a significant evolution of each participant through their testimonials and the impact-assessment we carried out. We used a self-evaluation form and a tool that measures the development of competencies to assess the participant's development.
I was responsible for co-designing the learning journey and facilitating the modules about non-violent communication & empathy, creativity & adaptability, and global awareness & changemaking.
