This is a reference for Juan Ratto-Nielsen
Aim: To discuss the common points between the Youthpass process and the Human Resource Development (HRD) training and learning cycles to support youth employability within the framework of strength-based approaches to change.
Objectives:
· to provide tools and techniques based on strengths and competences.
· to broaden the range of views and application of Youthpass Process.
· to increase the transferability of methods and learning tools between youth work and the HRD practice.
The topic is based on the recent essay by Juan Ratto-Nielsen: Youthpass and Human Resource Development: the missing link towards employability http://bit.ly/YOUTHPASSandHRD
This course targeted youth project managers, youth workers and project leaders bringing together 26 participants from 10 Programme Countries (Bulgaria, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Spain, Turkey and Poland) in Murcia, Spain for 6 days. Partners include a range of organisations from local youth NGOs to national and international networks involved in youth employability issues.
The training team consisted of 2 trainers, Juan Ratto-Nielsen and Jan Gasiorowski.
A variety of strength-based and non-formal learning exercises and techniques, such as group work, role-playing, simulations, reflection, creation activities, interviews, brainstorming, debriefing, etc., to introduce, experiment with and analyse the different contents.
The main outcome of the course is that youth workers, youth trainers and leaders that work with the Youth in Action (YiA) Programme incorporated strength-based Human Resource Development (HRD) tools and techniques in their Youthpass practices towards youth employability.
