Aims & objectives

The aim of the "Words Shape Identity" project (KA1, Mobility of Youth Workers) is to raise awareness about an inclusive LGBT terminology and its wider implementation in practical youth work. This aim will be achieved using diverse methods of non-formal education, primarily creative writing.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

22 youth workers from 11 different countries Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey

Training methods used & main activities

We used the small group work method frequently during the seminar. This method always can help for the people to share their own opinions without limitation.
We used the open space method where the people can change their places after one discussion about the topic and during this time they can develop their knowledges.
All other methoded were based on non-formal knowledge.

Outcomes of the activity

Besides the fact that participant learned the most important terminology used in LGBT community. The added value of the project was a web page with blogs from the participants in which they shared their knowledge and experience gained during the training course and share it with other youth workers. This encouraged them to contribute their own blogs for the mentioned web page, therefore knowledge and experience is still spreading even after the project's completion.
