Aims & objectives

This Training Course was tailored for youth workers who want to improve their intercultural skills needed in international and intercultural working places.
We provide to participant some useful knowledge, skills and attitudes on ex. effective communication, negotiations in intercultural environment, non-discrimination and culturally-specific norms and behaviors. It let active and motivated young people to get self-confidence and skills necessary to be successful in international youth work and be more effective in achieving their own goals (and goals of their youth NGOs).

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The target group of this training course were youth worker, already working in NGO sector. We had participant from Balkan Region, Caucasus Region, Western and Central Europe and Mediterranean counties, represented by Jordan. 30 young people from 10 countries had opportunity to learn a lot from us as trainers but also from each other as experienced youth workers.

Training methods used & main activities

All the activities were be based on non-formal and experiential learning methodologies. They were adapted and run based on the changing learning needs of the participants. All activities were structured in order to encourage the creativity and the enterprising spirit of participants within the group. In all the phases of the project, they experienced participative decision-making process and non-hierarchical work division.

Outcomes of the activity

First of all will embraced improvement of their intercultural skills, self-esteem, confidence in interpersonal relations and intercultural relations, skills that every leader and organizer should possess. By this we boosted their international activities in the future. Moreover, at the end we created a handout. The handouts contained gathered knowledge, brochures on organizational cultures of participating countries and hints and clues for youth leaders - all of this were distributed through various channels, including SALTO tools, web pages, social media and newsletters of all participating organizations.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was co-trainer, and also trainer reponsible for preparing the final evaluation with suggestions from the project coordinator.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
