Aims & objectives

To promote EuroMed cooperation by increasing interest in and understanding about social and cultural diversity of EuroMed region, by providing information on cooperation opportunities and by developing intercultural competencies to manage EuroMed projects successfully.


Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Participants: 19 representatives of Latvian NGOs who have some experience in NFE and YiA and who wish to develop EuroMed projects in the future (few participants were of migrant backround).
Team: a representative from Latvian NA and 3 trainers. The trainers' team was composed of Latvian, Russian-origin and Jordanian trainer. Training was conducted in English.

Training methods used & main activities

Work in groups, discussions, good/bad practice sharing, "living library", film screenings, role-plays and simulation excersize, individual research, presentations, etc.

Outcomes of the activity

- Inreased knowledge on social and cultural diversity of Meda region and higher motivation to cooperate.
- Matured awareness on how to create good quality projects with Meda countries.
- Deeper understanding and appreciation of Meda cultures and breaking of many prejudices about it.
- Worked out project ideas for cooperation.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

The creation of the concept of the training, preperation, implementation (as one of 3 trainers) and evaluation/follow-up activities. As this training was a new concept, most of the methods used for it we created ourselves.

I worked on this training for 4 days as a full time trainer.
