TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

The general idea of the TC "Formal + Non-Formal = Impact" is to bring together teachers from different EU and Eastern Partnership countries in order to build common understanding and exchange experience on how formal education could be combined with non-formal learning in order to promote the development of young people in rural areas where there are not that many opportunities than in bigger towns and cities.
The project includes 24 teachers from Program countries (Latvia, Slovenia, Italy, Romania) and EECA countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus).
The contents of the training included:
- Principles, values and characteristics of non-formal learning (NFL)
- Connection with formal education
- Needs and interests of young people in different countries that could be better addressed by NFL methods
- NFL methodology and application in life (also good practices)
- Empowerment of rural youth
- Opportunities of Erasmus+ programme
At the end of this project the teachers discovered NFE world and developed some skills by leading session using NFE methods. As a follow up activities, participants were encourage to apply NFE methods in their schools activities.
All the tasks and responsibilities were shared between the 3 trainers of the training. All the following activities were co-facilitated during the whole process:
* getting to know each other,
* team building activities,
* activities during the evening sessions,
* Experiential learning,
* Johary Window,
* different understandings of education / learning,
* moving debate about Teacher vs. Trainer,
* characteristics of NFE,
* facilitating the creativity task,
* couching the participants during the process of designing and implementing non-formal activities, offering feed-back,
* wold cafe and open space methods,
*evaluation and further steps,
* organizing a study visit in one of the schools in Chisinau and discussing with the teachers from Moldova about possibilities to use NFE methods in school activities.
