TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Ksenija Joksimovic
''Tapping Skills in Drama and Play'' (2019), an international training course for youth workers from Serbia and Malta, working with different minority groups. The training was organized in two parts (the main training in Belgrade and the follow-up in Malta), on the use of Theatre of the Oppressed methodology and drama methods in youth work to tackle social exclusion and discrimination. The training was grounded in intersectionality theory and critical pedagogy, with specific sessions dedicated to understanding the theoretical and practical aspects of both approaches.
Aims and objectives:
– Understand the power dynamics in youth mentoring relationships.
– Learn how to create healthy boundaries in youth groups and between the mentor-youth.
– Understand conflict, violence and power relationships in youth group.
– Learn how to be assertive and transform and manage conflict within youth groups.
– Learn how to use theatre, drama and play methods well in youth work.
– Experience different youth work realities through sharing of experiences, and
– Implement new youth work methods in our youth groups.

Participants were youth workers based in Serbia and Malta 9 (of different nationalities: Serbian, Montenegrin, Maltese, Indian, Pakistani, etc).
Training and prep team were Maltese and Serbian.
