Aims & objectives

Aim: To enable participants that are STARTING trainers, to competently plan, run and evaluate training activities, within the European youth work context (on local, national or European level).

Needs: Provide opportunity for those who would like to become trainers.

Fit to goals of the organisation: The partner NAs have had a number of starting or potential trainers who have needed a "kick-off" into the job of a trainer.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Target group: 25 potential and starting trainers from 18 different countries and nationalities (AL, AT, BG, BY, CH, CZ, DE, EE, F, GE, HU, IT, MK, NL, PL, SK, TR, UK)

Training methods used & main activities

group discussions and group work, presentations (both by participants and trainers), simulation of a training programme, brainstorming, individual work, reflection groups, energisers, ice-breakers etc.

Outcomes of the activity

25 trainers with theoretical and practical background in non-formal education and its methods. Many of the participants have started to work as trainers in their home countries and develop educational activities of some sort.
