Aims & objectives

Study three main topics:
Sexual health and sexual function
Functional relationships and avoidance of violence
Self-esteem and responsible behaviours

Used methods which foster:
cooperation,
respect diversity,
problem solving.
Achieve objectives by:
Relieve prejudice and accept differences.
Understand differences between healthy and non-healthy relationships.
Increase understanding regarding human sexuality, reproductive health and relationships.
Encourage youths to think effectively and to appoint positive and responsible behaviours in a relationship.
Facilitate exchange of opinions regarding healthy relationships.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The group of participants were from Jordan, Egypt, Moldova, Portugal, Greece, Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Latvia. There were 36 participants.
The target group was various - social workers, youth workers, youth, physicians, medical doctors, pharmacologist, psychologists working directly with the theme of health education in institutions.

Training methods used & main activities

There were so many methods used within the 9 days activity; we have had group discussions, thematic presentations, experiential learning, study groups and visits to organizations combating women's violence, prevention centre for AIDS/HIV and laboratory visits to get acquainted with procedure and field work, silent floors and presentations.

Outcomes of the activity

The outcomes of the activity could be grouped with the following themes - Becoming familiar with the methods and principles of non-formal education ; -Developing bridges of communication with different groups of people;- Meeting and connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Due to the diversity of the group we have managed to work on - Relieve prejudice and accept differences;
- Understand differences between healthy and non-healthy relationships;
- Increase understanding regarding human sexuality, reproductive health and relationships.
Encourage youths to think effectively and to appoint positive and responsible behaviours in a relationship;
- Facilitate exchange of opinions regarding healthy relationships.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was working as a full time trainer together with 3 more trainers - Natassa Timologou, Fotini Argiro and Georgia Gounari. My work assignments varied among the activities of getting to know each other, thematic assignments as - '' Self-confidence, Empathy and Reduction of stereotypes (Acceptance of differences)'', '' Promotion of Sexual Health'', ''What did we learn? Tools that have been gained''.

I worked on this training for 9 days as a full time trainer.
