Aims & objectives

The aim of this long-term project “Sustainable Rural E+imPact” is to establish a network of organizations willing to promote sustainable entrepreneurship in rural areas and to build capacities for the implementation of Erasmus+ projects for developing competences among young people.

“Sustainable Rural E+imPact” is Erasmus+ KA1 project that will be realized in three stages starting with:
- Contact Making Event (CME – Activity.1) held in Weimar, Germany (5 – 11 December 2014)
- Training Course (TC – Activity.2) held in Kratovo, Macedonia (21 – 28 February 2015)
- Evaluation Meeting (EM – Activity.3) will be held in Sajan, Serbia (September 2015)

Objectives:
- to build new partnerships between Programme and Neighboring Partner Countries
- to exchange good organizational practices
- to learn for sustainable entrepreneurship and recognize the benefits from it in rural areas
- to develop future cooperative projects and exchanges in Erasmus+, involving not only participants but also their beneficiaries

Training course “Sustainable Rural E+imPact” has implemented in Kratovo, Macedonia from 21 – 28 of February 2015 and was designed with aim to establish a network of organizations which can share experience and establish strong network which will focus on work with young people in rural areas and create a long term impact in rural communities.

This Erasmus + long-term project is open for organizations based in Rural Area and organizations willing to expend their work in Rural Areas.

Training course objectives were:
- to increase the capacity of the organizations for fighting unemployment, social exclusion and poverty in rural areas
- to gain deep knowledge for sustainability and be able to create activities for steering creativity and innovation,  fostering  entrepreneurship competences among young people in rural areas
- to recognize the benefits of non-formal education and to provide mobility opportunities for young people in rural areas
- to be able to develop and lead high quality local and international activities for young people
- to learn for the process of starting new business and be able to empower and support young people in rural areas making their first steps in sustainable entrepreneurship

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The Training Course in Kratovo (TC – Activity.2) was designed for youth workers, youth leaders, municipality staff, young people from rural areas, staff from NGOs, social enterprises, volunteers, teachers, trainers and educators.

This activity was created with aim to build capacity of the organizations for work with young people in rural areas, by increasing the competences of their staff.

Participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, France, Macedonia, Spain and Germany took part in the training course.
The working language of training course was English.

Training methods used & main activities

The working methods used on this training course were non-formal education and informal way of learning. This included: games, energizers, ice-breakers, team building exercises, individual and group outdoor educational activities, work on practical examples in a small groups, simulations, thematic workshops, discussions, debates, presentations...

- Education, information and awareness - raising using non - formal methods
- Facilitation skills

The activities were designed on David Kolb’s. Activities were separated in morning, afternoon sessions, finishing with reflection groups for the each day.

Outcomes of the activity

Outcomes of the training activities were in establishing of a network between the partner organizations to promote sustainable entrepreneurship in rural areas.

In focus was the capacity-building process under Erasmus + program with the idea to develop entrepreneurial competences for young people. 
Due to the fact that the involved organizations are working together in a long-term project they had a fruitful exchange of best practice and deepen their partnership.

Also, CGE Erfurt e.V. with partners are planning to develop a Key Action 2 under Erasmus + out of this project, including more stakeholders, politicians, enterprises etc. and therefore really making an impact on the development of rural areas in Europe.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

In this training course I worked as a trainer with my colleagues:
Ivona Krstevska - trainer and Secretary General in National Youth Council of Macedonia (www.nms.org.mk) - experienced trainer in non formal education
Aleksej Stepanov - trainer and Executive Director at Center for Studies of Social Democracy

In total three trainers from Serbia and Macedonia delivered program activities using an interactive and participatory approach method.
