TOY - Trainers Online for Youth

Summer University is the flagship project of AEGEE.
SUPS (Summer University Project School) aims at training Summer University organizers/coordinators on team management, group dynamics, logistics and financial management, fundraising, communication. Since the scope is so wide and the time so limited, 12+ working hours a day are actually happening.
The trainers team was composed of me and 3 more trainers from Slovakia, Ukraine and Italy. We had 18 trainees, coming from every corner of Europe.
Brainstorming, roleplay and simulations were the main training methods. In particular, we run a 4 hours long simulation of the whole organizational process, with the teams going through the process of organizing a whole Summer University in a real location.
The participants received a deep insight on the organizational and management processes. The main sign of success was that every person who wanted to perform a specific role in their Summer University at the beginning of the course was afraid of undertaking it after the course, while people who didn't have specific aims were interested in experiencing an organizational position at the end of the training.
I contributed to develop the structure on the training together with the Project Coordinator and the other trainers, I delivered specific sessions and helped out the other trainers when needed, I carried out evaluation activities and accompanied the whole group from the introductory session to the goodbies. The trainer team was all resident, so everyone shared the workload equally.
