Starting from 1981, the Convention has always been one of the YEU (Youth for Exchange & Understanding) milestones: an annual event that gathers an
international and multicultural group of young people to get to know each other and discuss a topic of interest.
This year, the YEU Convention was organised in the framework of the project Superheroes of climate change: a project-workplan, funded by the European Youth Foundation. The project has as objective to enhance the ownership feeling of the green agenda among young people, enabling them to play an active role by embracing sustainable behaviours and practices in their local communities.
Young people aged 17-35 from different organisations and different cultural backgrounds.
Countries represented:
Greece
Portugal
Tunisia
Italy

The whole activity was designed and implemented using non-formal education methodologies. For the design and structure, 4MAT and Kolb's cycle of experiential learning were taken into consideration in order to satisfy all learning needs of the participants. Interactive activities, world cafe, role-playing, debate, gamified learning activities, quizzes, small working groups, team-building games were some of the methodologies used during the training.
The activity gathered 50 participants from all over Europe and beyond where they explored and acquired communication skills, storytelling techniques and outreach strategies in order to spread the word about climate change in their local communities.
