The training activity took place
in Cluj Napoca, Romania
organised by AEGEE
March 5-12, 2015

Aims & objectives

The participants got theoretical and practical knowledge on how to organize a great Summer University. The topics covered were: Event Management, Public Relations, Organizer team management (HR), Risk assessment, Crisis management, Budgeting and Fund Raising

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

19 participants from 12 nationalities (BG, DE, EE, EL, ES, HR, IT, PL, RO, MD, UA, RU), all members of AEGEE who were responsible for organizing a Summer University in their countries.

Training methods used & main activities

The participants learned through games and participatory, interactive activities, as well as an innovative series of case studies in groups, following the NFE methodology, provided by a team of 5 trainers from different nationalities (UA, RU, IT, EL, RO), with the support of the Academy (the pool of trainers of AEGEE) and the Summer University Coordination Team.

Outcomes of the activity

The training was highly successful, the participants felt ready to implement the knowledge gained directly and were very satisfied with the training, as well as having developed strong friendships between them.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was a full time trainer in SUPS Cluj Napoca.
My sessions were:
- Fears, Hopes and Expectations round
- How to present AEGEE to your participants
- Games and Team-Building activities
- Intercultural Learning
- Logistics of a SU
- How to include Disabled participants
As well as being a mentor for my case study group.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
