Stand Up for Your Mobility

The training activity took place
in Lille
organised by Histoire de Savoirs
2017

Aims & objectives

This training holds several purposes. Firstly, we worked on the knowledge and experiences of the participants to share the good practices and go deeper in the subject, via a brainstorm or an exchange: how do you promote mobility and free-movement? What hardships have you encountered, what seemed easy to do? Secondly, participants were trained to acquire and master technical skills in order to create visual supports promoting mobility: video, flyer, use of graphics to realize a logo, exhibition of photos portraying witnesses and persons having benefitted from such mobility programs (Erasmus+, EVS…). The main idea here is that youth, and most of all people who had the opportunity of being mobile through such initiatives, promote themselves European programs for easy mobility within Europe. Finally, a whole day was dedicated to the creation of blueprints for new projects, through discussions and networking.

Objectives:
• To assess and to exchange experiences and best practices, as well as common pitfalls in the field of promoting mobility
• To develop together, visual supports (video, exhibition, graphics) that can be used to extend the impacts of the training at a local and regional level and promote mobility and free movement
• To introduce and train participants to technical skills, in order for them to create their own local campaigns afterwards
• To develop a common understanding between the participants’ organizations and instruments, on the subject of mobility and free-movement in Europe, to continue working together during following projects
• To practice tools and methods of youth training courses in order to plan training courses back in their country for sustainable future development of the project at local levels

• To develop creativity, innovation and teamwork capacity of participants, their sense of initiative, as well as their understanding of how to be good learners

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Youth Workers from France, Germany, Itlay, Lituania, Romania, Spain, Greece, Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia.

Training methods used & main activities

The program of the course was based on non formal education and was conducted using an interactive and participative approach. Active group/team work, role-plays, outdoor activities and plenary discussions, as well as theoretical inputs characterized the program of the course in order to cover all aspects of the project themes. Special attention was paid to the fact that the competences and the knowledge gained and transmitted during the course remain sustainable and transferable. This was achieved by setting up enough space and time for reflection and evaluation, by providing comprehensive documentation, handouts and guidance from the trainers’ team. A finished workshop pack was given to the participants at the end of the training so that they can use it at the return in their own countries. The participants could then do a training course in their respective countries to teach to other youth workers training skills and tools on the subject. Then the youth workers who received this training can create their own campaign, thanks to the visual supports and technical knowledge they will have acquired.
Tools was taught and, on the basis of their already existing projects in their sending organizations, participants were also invited to share good practices, to exchange useful information, and work intensively in order to improve their training skills with youths in regards to the subject of this training course.
