This training aimed to support the availability, quality and sustainability of human rights education with young people in Francophone communities and regions, by developing the competences of multipliers within the framework of local, national or international activities and projects, based on the COMPASS manual.
The team was composed by 4 trainers.
The participants were coming from different countries: Metropolitan France and Overseas France(Guadeloupe
Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion,Mayotte), but also Belgium, Luxembourg, Senegal, Tunisia,
Non-formal education activites issued from the Manual "Compass" (Human rigths education);
The training content and methodology have been designed to enable participants to develop the core competences required of multipliers in human rights education with young people.
Ability to understand and appropriate the main instruments for the protection and promotion of human rights, and to relate them to young people’s lived realities;
Ability to credibly present and advocate for human rights education as an educational concept and a social necessity, and to collaborate with relevant stakeholders through the promotion of human rights education at local and national levels;
Ability to understand, respond to, and build upon young people’s needs and aspirations in human rights education, and to link them with youth policies and programmes;
Ability to facilitate non-formal learning processes in human rights education based on the COMPASS manual;
Ability to recognise the human rights values framework and translate it into personal, social, and professional action.
I've participated as a associated trainer.
My task were:
- Developing with the rest of the team the educational contents of the training;
- Design and facilitate sessions;
- Facilitate group meetings to mentor participants in the development of their personal projects
- Contribute to the reporting activity of the TC
