in Kaunas
organised by European Social Entrepreneurship and Innovative Studies Institute
24.02.2017-26.02.2017

Aims & objectives

International Social Entrepreneurship enabling Startup Weekend “ChangeMakers’ON" was launched the first time in Lithuania.

The main goal was to help social ideas to be developed as sustainable social business model. More than 40 mentors from different fields and with different expertize helped to fulfil goals.

Social Entrepreneurship is not a new notion, and yet in Lithuania the Social Entrepreneurship conception was approved not so long ago, just in 2015. The conception’s approval inspired dozens of new discussion, debates and forums, all of them working towards creating better tools for Social Entrepreneurs. From the very begging of our existence, European Social Entrepreneurship
and Innovative studies Institute has been enabling and empowering Social Entrepreneurship in Lithuania and abroad. With our extensive experience, we decided to help young challenge and approval thirsty adults to create impact, feel safe and fulfil their dreams.

During the first day of ChangeMakers'ON panel discussion was organized. The aim was to come up to common understanding how much social innovations, social entrepreneurship, social responsibility and social enterprise are similar and why and where they are different "planets".
It is not only an event – it’s also a movement which was created to empower young and initiative citizens to create social good and innovations.

During the international intense one weekend event, the youths created Social business models that are based on social innovations and changes.
Climate change, health, ageing society, pollution, social inequality – these are only a few of the problems the participants will tackle.

The participants were consulted by experienced mentors-experts who are professional entrepreneurs who have an international experience.

The main goal of “ChangeMakers‘ON” was to create a social business from an idea to a commercially successful social business model in one weekend.

Participants from Baltics and Nordic region took part in ChangeMakers'ON.
