Aims & objectives

‘Social Growth for Circular Fashion’ aim was to develop, organize and evaluate an experimental pedagogical plan for the training and empowerment of women on Circular and Ηeritage Fashion in the garment and textile sector. The program
brought together a target group of young NEET women and women, usually over 55, who master or practice regional
craftsmanship techniques in garments and textiles, as well as producers, female leading fashion SMEs and startups who were interested or coulb be attracted to sustainable, resource-efficient and recyclable production of clothing and textiles

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

Direct beneficiaries to the program included:

-target group 1) young women NEETS and young women with a background in design and fashion who are unemployed or have never been employed

-target group 2) mostly women above the age of
55 with knowledgeable of traditional fashion techniques of their regions, heritage patterns, styles, textiles and techniques, embroidery and special sewing styles whose knowledge is in risk of extinction and who strive to survive from their professions- if they can still raise any income

Participants of the training: 20 Women: 10 aged 18-25 and 10 aged above 55 for each partner country (Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Greece) equally divided 1 trainer on entrepreneurial skills, 1 trainer on circular and heritage textiles development techniques, 1 trainer on circular and heritage
garments development techniques, 1 trainer to facilitate collaboration and co-creation, 1 trainer on digital skills Venue.

Training methods used & main activities

Through the methodology of non-formal education, we worked on team building and presenting our own idea of marketing and promoting our own fashion line. Starting from building the profile of our typical customer, we presented our innovative circular fashion ideas in groups.

Outcomes of the activity

The project delivered its objective through the following outputs:
- A Handbook and possible toolkits for educators that
will be digitised
- An educational toolkit for the training of women (including modules, manuals, workshops) - Digital elearning educational platform for the training of women (webplatform, e-modules, e-manuals, webinars, selfie short videos
of heritage practices)
- an Open Studio toolkit to be delivered physically or live streaming

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I led the introductory part, worked on team building and the part related to marketing and promotion in the circular fashion industry. I also conducted the evaluation part of the project.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
