Social Entrepreneurship Now!

Aims & objectives

The Training Course aimed to explore the concept of social entrepreneurship as an innovative way to solve social problems using entrepreneurial skills and youth voice. It is an attempt to give an appropriate answer to the problems that young people from disadvantaged areas of Europe are facing in the present: the high percentage of unemployment.
The project intends to focus on the concept of the social entrepreneurship in general with specific attention on entrepreneurial skills, leadership and management, need and problem analysis and funding and financing; those topics will be explored in the context of youth organizations and volunteering. The overall purpose, is to stimulate young people to think about social entrepreneurship and its role, as well as to analyze the changes taking place in their own countries and communities and, last but not least, to inspire them to consider self-employment

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

In the courses activities there were involved 11 countries (Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Austria, Poland, Malta, Uk, Romania, Croatia, Portugal and The Netherlands)

Training methods used & main activities

All the working methods used throughout ‘Social Entrepreneurship Now!" project used non formal learning methods, and all sessions were conducted by professional trainers. All the sessions held during the training course are structured in flowing manner, easing the participants into the subjects to be discussed , thus giving them a maximum learning experience. The working methods included debates, daily energizers and team-building activities to help building up the group, group discussion to allow the participants to voice their opinions, role-playing exercises and simulations to show them different ways of expressing their thoughts and also visual presentations

Outcomes of the activity

Representatives of the partner organisations presented the results of the TC to their colleagues and multiply it towards other NGOs. The training course was a success and its implementation and results could be disseminated in several local Italian publications.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was on the main trainer of the course, delivering sessions in all the working days of the project.

I worked on this training for 7 days as a full time trainer.
