Aims & objectives

This project composed by 2 international activities that are linked. In June 2015 wasa training course in France and in November 2015 was a seminar in Beja. The aims of the projects were: Develop essential facilitation skills like planning, debriefing, group dynamics, session design, feedback; Train and improve youth facilitators’ competences through self-reflection and feedback from peers and trainers;Develop or improve personal facilitation style; Practice, practice, practice, what you know, what you learned and what you want to learn; (after first TC and in the seminar in Portugal); To further develop teamwork competencies and skills, through the practice of decision-making, active communication and feedback; To exchange good practices among the team and participants;
To improve participants’ knowledge of Erasmus + programme in general and To create new partnerships and/or projects.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

This project envolved 24 international participants from 8 countries from France, Portugal, Lithuania, Italy, Humgary, Greece, Cryprus and Croatia. All the participants were active in their organisations and managed projects. The Trainers Team was composed by 2 Portuguese Trainers.

Training methods used & main activities

We used a Non formal methods and tools: Team Building games, energisers, Video CV, Team-work, Creativity tasks, Motivational videos, Daily diary, Reflection Groups, Coaching sessions.. In June 2015 was a training course in France and to provide tools and methods for the participants to be able to work as facilitators. After that the participants developed local activities to practice what they have learnt. In November, the same participants gather again in Portugal, for a seminar, where participants were evaluate the outcomes of the local activities, practice more the facilitator skills and provide advanced methods for facilitators.

Outcomes of the activity

The Project developed a lot of personal and professional competences as final evaluation questionnaires confirm.
Participants gained a lot of tools and methods to develop professional skill of facilitators to empower youth on their professional and personal life: especially in the different sessions on coaching 1 to 1, in the practice sessions, in the new tools on self reflection created by the trainers, in the sessions on communication and leadership, in motivational and self-recognisement tools. We created a guidebook with tools, methods and main topics needed to design, implement and evaluate activities: a guidebook for facilitators.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My role in Simplier Training/seminar was a trainer in some sessions in especially about teambuild activities, Erasmus +, Good practices in Facilitation, evaluation and follow-up activities. In this specific project I had some counseling sessions with some of the trainees during second part of the project.

I worked on this training for 7 training days + 5 Training Days days as a full time trainer.
