Aim -
Enhancing the quantity and quality of EVS projects engaging young people with disabilities.
Enabling young people with disabilities to take part in Action 2 of the Youth Programme - European Voluntary Service.
OBJECTIVES
What is Youth programme- definitions, theory, what we mean when we say… making out common understanding of expressions;
Understanding of “ disability” in different countries; socio-economical background, problem in different countries
Defining + and – of own organization in aspect of being SO/HO and working with disabled person
What we can do? What is our capacity to work as SO/HO organization and with disabled people – what we can offer to volunteer? How he can help us?
What are technical and financial possibilities?
Exchanging and introduce good practices and experiences
Forming partnership between Sending and Hosting organization
Breaking stereotypes and prejudices about disabled peoples
Identifying needs and abilities of disabled volunteers
Ways of selecting volunteers
Motivation and motivating of disabled volunteers
Requirements of the disabled volunteer placement
Additional funding recourses
Integration disabled volunteer with other volunteers
Theme : how to empower the organisations dealing with disabled people to make the projects.
Target group - Organizations already active in European Voluntary Service, which are potentially interested in hosting disabled volunteers and organizations which are working with disabled people potentially interested in cooperation within EVS from Programme Countries (Poland, Finland, Czech, Lithuania, Great Britain, Estonia, Portugal)
Methodology: simulation, provocation, discussion, groupwork, target-planning, each day evaluation.
steam achievement- empowered youth leaders and coordinators. Designed concrete strategy for few projects involving disabled participants.
