Seminar for Members of Youth Parliaments

The training activity took place
in European Youth Centre Strasbourg, France
organised by National Youth Council of Russia and Council of Europe's Directorate Youth and Sport

Aims & objectives

The course is aimed at exploring the principles, experiences and resources of the Council of Europe in the area of youth participation in youth policy making and development. Participants will share best practices of the youth participation in legislation processes, youth policy development in the frame of Agenda 2020 and ways how to improve their functioning, impact, cooperation with state bodies, increase membership and involvements. Participants will get acquainted and discuss the spirit and values of the Council of Europe, they will get acquainted with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) session process, they will work out strategy of involvement youth parliaments in the decision making process, they will set up partnership between the youth parliaments and young deputes. Meetings with PACE members are envisaged.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

30 Russian participants from youth parliaments and young deputies from different regions of Russian Federation.

Training methods used & main activities

Role games.
Simultaneous exercises.
Group activities and individual work.
Official presentations of Council of Europe, European Youth Foundation, documents of Council of Europe, Concept of HRE.

Outcomes of the activity

Participants after seminar familiar with the meaning and practice of these concepts in the Council of Europe and in youth work.
They get ability to introduce the relation between youth work and youth policy, role of youth participation in society.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

I was together with Liubov Lissina full-time trainer during the course - we plan, implement and evaluate the seminar.

I worked on this training for 5 days days as a full time trainer.
